Overview

A static analyzer that checks C source files against the MISRA-C coding standard — the rule set used for safety-critical embedded software.

How it works

  • Flex tokenizes the C source.
  • Bison parses the grammar and drives the semantic checks.
  • Violations are reported back so bad practices are caught before code review.

This grew out of my internship at John Deere, where I built a static analyzer with a graphical interface that highlighted bad coding practices directly in the file.
